    • The Gold standard is percutaneous repair for simple secundum defects
    • Surgical repair

Ventricular Septal Defect, VSD

  • Most common congenital heart disease in children
  • Second most common in adults
  • Most Common defect Membranous, 80%
  • Loud murmurs mean the defect is small
  • Large defect
    • Has a softer murmur
    • Pulmonary hypertension
    • LV overload
    • Most comment cause of Eisenmenger syndrome
